Why BP?

BP translation conferences are independently organised events for freelance translators by a freelance translator.

‘BP’ stands for business and practice, the two broad subjects of the event – although originally these two letters meant Budapest, the venue of the first such event (BP14), as well as the home town of Csaba Bán who runs BP translation conferences.

Enthusiastic attendees at BP14 urged me to do a follow-up event in the closing hours of that conference. Well, here it is, but this time in Zagreb, the youthful capital of the European Union’s newest member state.

BP15 is an independent conference targeting mostly freelance translators, but of course the event will be open to anyone in the language industry.

Having organised a couple of conferences and having attended several others, I firmly believe that a successful event needs Bright People. These people love listening to some of the Best Presentations – and all freelance translators are interested in Business and Practice.

I hope to welcome many such bright people in Zagreb.
